Weaving is our featured craft for 2011 & visitors will be treated to daily demonstrations by the talented members of the Wangaratta Handweavers and Spinners, sharing some of the secrets of their fascinating & timeless craft.

WORKSHOP 1: Felted Coils
9.30 - 10.30am Saturday 2nd July
For Kids Aged 6-12 - $10 ea
A fantastic introduction to felting, kids will make rainbow felted coils which can be used whole or sliced up and threaded for colourful jewellery.
WORKSHOP 2: Silk Tie-Dye
11.30am - 12.30pm Saturday 2nd July
For Kids Aged 6-12 - $10 ea
Kids will be shown the fundamentals of tie-dyeing, and will take home their own piece of bright original fabric to enjoy.
WORKSHOP 3: Pre-Felt Scarf
2 - 4pm Saturday 2nd July
For Adults - $25 ea
A brilliant chance for adult beginners to learn all the basics of felting & take home a lovely scarf to brighten up their winter.
WORKSHOP 4: Eco Dyeing
10am - 4pm Sunday 3rd July
For Adults - $60 ea
Explore the exciting world of eco-dyeing as Jude shows you how to use different techniques to make distinctive & original fabrics.

Come and join in some fun “open workshops” every afternoon from Monday 4 to Friday 8 July at Wangaratta Library. Participation is by gold coin donation with all materials supplied and experienced tutors on hand to help beginners of all ages learn a new textile trick or two.
No need to book, just come and join in!

Stitched Bookmarks with the Embroiderers Guild
Embroiderers Guild members will show you how to make an embroidered bookmark using the basic stitches for a colourful result!
Wednesday 6th
Weave It Looms with Liz Salmon
Learn how to use the simple weave-it looms to create your own original piece of fabric. An age old technique taught in an easy & effective way!
Thursday 7th
Totally Useful Pouches with Sally Huguenin
Use applique and recycled materials to make a simple pouch suitable for holding mobile phones, mp3 players, anything!
Friday 8th
UFO’s (unfinished objects) with SUTF tutors
Bring along unfinished hand work projects and the combined knowledge of our team of tutors will help you if you need it or just have a chat!
